One of the hardest things I found with planning a wedding was meeting with different vendors. I always struggled with having conversations with strangers, that's always been my husband's thing. So naturally, when we went to meet with Karen I was nervous. Karen sure blew us away. Within 5 Minutes of chatting with her, I knew she would be the one to marry us and my husband felt the same. Karen is funny and incredibly easy to talk to, making this part of our wedding stress-free. We wanted a simple, fun, and non-traditional wedding ceremony. Karen did exactly that for us. Her words were simple and beautiful, she did not ramble on as some can do. She sent us her script before the wedding to proofread and give any feedback. Her script was perfect, we had one question about it and that was it, she wrote out our vision perfectly. Both my sisters are married and both recommended to me to ask our Officiant to make an effort to move to the side of the ceremony area when we kiss for the first time as husband and wife. My sisters both said they were a little disappointed that their officiant was in their first kiss photo. Before I could mention this to Karen during our initial meeting, she brought it up. I don't know about you, but I really appreciated Karen bringing it up first. I could go on and on about Karen. She was just the perfect person for us and I am so beyond happy with how our ceremony turned out and that is thanks to her. I highly recommend meeting with her and you can see for yourself just how badly you need her to be a part of your day.

Karen was the perfect Marriage Commissioner: professional, kind and caring. She performed a beautiful wedding ceremony that reflected our personal interests and values. Karen gave us several drafts of the ceremony with options to change or insert our own words. She was flexible with our options for time and patient with our frequent changes. Karen was wonderful, she took the time to get to know us both and what brought us together, the things that mattered to us and incorporated those ideas into our ceremony. She helped to get us organized during our rehearsal and listened to our ideas and gave us wonderful idea's for our yes moment.

My husband and I were so glad to have Karen officiate our wedding. Growing up in Strathmore, I had Karen or "Ms. Harris" as my teacher in high school. When I saw her name on the list of officiants for the Province of Alberta, I emailed her first thing!

On 06/06/2020, my hunny and I decided to go ahead with a very scaled down version of our original wedding plans, which turned out to be an amazing “Pandemic Wedding”.

We had originally booked with Karen, and were thrilled that she was still willing to officiate for us considering the co-vid circumstances!

It was a true blessing to have had her work with us before the wedding to ensure that we were comfortable with our vows and understood how the big day would flow.

Karen is incredibly down to earth, has a great sense of humour and is super professional. All of which allowed for an intimate, light hearted and very meaningful farm ceremony.

She was even brave enough to climb a flight of stairs in front of our guests to get to our signing table, which was situated up top in the hay loft of a hundred year old barn. To say that she is a good sport is a complete understatement!
